To George's wife and family,I remember George fondly when as a youngster I used to go to the YMCA after school to participate in all kinds of sports and George was always there running the programs. I knew even as a young child that there was something very special about George who treated us all like his own children. That's probably why we always called him affectionately , Uncle George. In fact to prove what a great man he was he's used to invite all us kids to his home every winter to go sliding on our sleds at his home with free snacks and hot chocolate. And now I realize we were from 7 to 10 years of age and he was a mere 24 years old . How thoughtful was he and his wife to even care that much about the kids.To prove he was special , I remember that the people who followed George were nothing like him!! He was truly one in a million and just knowing he was here brought great warmth to me and I'm sure many others. I mean what 24 year old teen cares about youngsters 7-12 years old. He was a Saint and I'll miss him. Throughout my life we would cross paths occasionally and at Carnell's and his warmth and friendliness was ever present. I really and truly loved him like an Uncle. You couldn't help but love him ! I am sadden to hear of his passing from the dreaded cancer.I can't think of anyone else I've ever met where I felt the same affection and completely safe toward a complete stranger like George. To his family I am profoundly sorry and I ask God to give you strength and comfort at this time of great sorrow.Uncle George, you really put your mark on making the world a better safer place. May God bless you George for your numerous acts of kindness and service to our country.
