Geraldine Panke Obituary
After graduating from Teacher's College of Connecticut (CCSU) with a Master of Science Degree, Gerry dedicated her career to teaching Advanced Mathematics at the high school level. She is remembered fondly by many former students and colleagues. Gerry had a passion for travel and saw many parts of the world before meeting the love of her life in Ed and settling down in the Simsbury and Granby areas. Gerry was a devoted daughter, sister, aunt and friend to many. Her kindness, generosity and wit will be remembered by all who knew and loved her.
Gerry is survived by her two brothers and their wives, Carmen and Judith Greco of Farmington and James and Denise Greco of Johnstown, PA, nine nieces and nephews and numerous grandnieces and nephews.
Friends may call at The Ahern Funeral Home, 111 Main St., Rt. 4, Unionville on Tuesday, May 2nd, 2023 from 4:00-6:00pm. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 3rd, 2023 at 10:00am in the Church of St. Mary Star of the Sea, Unionville followed by burial in Southwest Cemetery, Collinsville. In lieu of flowers, Gerry has chosen the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation (www.pulmonaryfibrosis.org), which is dedicated to finding a cure to this terminal condition. What a fabulous teacher Mrs. Panke was at Conard High School. The things I learned from this wonderful woman have stayed with me and been so helpful throughout my life. Thank goodness for superb and caring teachers like Mrs. Panke. Blessings to her loved ones and family.

I have such wonderful memories of Gerry from our time together at Conard. An excellent, kind, competent teacher with high standards, she was well-respected by students and her colleagues. She was a role model within the education profession. I, too, had many interesting lunch time conversations with her. Sending condolences to her family and friends. May her spirit and kindness live on in your hearts!

So sorry to hear. My condolences to the family. I will always remember the wonderful lunch conversations at Conard High. Gerry was a terrific math teacher and was also kind and understanding. Will not forget her.
