Gilbert Serieux Obituary
Gilbert Serieux, 53, of Winston Salem, NC and formerly of Hartford, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 surrounded by his family. Born in Mon Repos, St. Lucia on May 17, 1962 to Marianna Serieux and the late Charles Goodman, he was raised in St. Lucia and lived in Hartford over 17 years. He was part owner of GRE Management, LLC. He leaves behind his wife Stephanie; three daughters, Samantha, Summayah, and Gilda; two sons, Cory and Gilbert, Jr.; three sisters, Leona of Barbados, Bernadette of Barbados, Marcia of St. Lucia; four brothers, Mirla of Barbados, John of Canada, Stanley of St. Lucia, and Charles of Canada; an Aunt, Gillia of St. Lucia; his best friend, Columban; four cousins, Fastus, Matthew, Jerome, and George; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and other relatives of the Serieux, Jean, Wilson, and Combe families too numerous to mention. He also leaves the fellow members of his former cricket teams in St. Lucia and Hartford. His family will receive friends on Friday, December 4, 6-9 p.m. at The Lodge Community Chapel, 130 Deerfield Rd., Windsor. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 5, at 9:30 a.m., at The Lodge Community Chapel, 130 Deerfield Rd., Windsor with Bishop Michael E. Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Bloomfield. Immediately following the burial a Repast will be held at the Sportsman's Athletic Club, 2976 Main St., Hartford. My thoughts and prayers are with Stephanie and the family. Gilbert was a good man and a blessing to all who knew him. He was kind, caring and humble- always willing to help others and make a difference in people's lives. I will forever remember the fun times my family and I spent with Gilbert, his wife and his daughters.

Gilbert and Stephanie loved one another, they built a great family together. Gilbert was loved and respected by all his friends and family. I will miss him dearly but his memory will live on.

I remember Gilbert as a sweet and understanding person. He used to be my mother's landlord when she lived in Hartford. He was always wearing a smile,and had a kind word for our ears. He will be greatly missed.
