Grace Cronin

Grace (Lenczyk) Cronin passed away on Friday, Dec. 13, 2013 in Walpole, MA., residing in Foxboro for over 40 years. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert Cronin. Born in Newington , she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Sophie (Kic) Lenczyk. She graduated from Stetson University in DeLand , FL with a Bachelor of Science degree. Grace will be remembered for her accomplishments as a Connecticut State and National Golf Champion winning both the U.S. Women's Amateur at Pebble Beach and the Canadian Amateur. She was also named to the U.S. Women's Curtis Cup Team. In addition to golf, Grace was a wonderful painter. She loved art, nature, birds and animals. A loving sister and aunt, she leaves her sisters: Genevieve Lenczyk of Rocky Hill and Lorraine Paquette of Torrington; nieces: Robin Paquette of Torrington and her daughter, Kristen Cocchia of Milford, Holly Bryant of Washington D.C., Holly Kobayashi and her sons, Chacki and Maki of Newington and nephews: Bernard Paquette of Kent and Ryan Clark of New Britain. Grace was pre-deceased by her three brothers: Attorney Fred Lenczyk, Dr. Theodore Lenczyk and Captain Rudolph Lenczyk. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday , Dec. 28th, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Church, Newington . She will be laid to rest beside her family in West Meadow Cemetery .
