Gregory DuPont Obituary

Gregory Alan DuPont, 65, died peacefully on Saturday, May 20, 2017 in Southington, CT. He joins his father and mother, Philip Joseph DuPont and Cornelia (Quist) DuPont, and his three siblings, Diane Kablik, Philip DuPont Jr. and Jeffrey DuPont, in the next life. Greg was born in Hartford and raised in West Hartford. After serving in the army in 1972, he returned to Connecticut, where he would later meet his wife, Susan Belisle DuPont, and become a proud father to two daughters. Greg was an avid gardener and loved the outdoors. He had a penchant for growing fat, juicy tomatoes amid rows of marigolds, and he enjoyed hiking, camping, fishing and canoeing with his family. He was a music-lover, a history-buff, a skilled chess player and a spiritual seeker. He had a reverence for Native American peoples and their culture and donated to many charities. Greg leaves behind daughter Teresa Anne Olsen and her three children, Aqua, Ambrosia and Adonis, of Kaua'i; and daughter Samantha Quist DuPont, son-in-law Brian Lewis, and their son, Owen Lewis, of San Francisco, CA. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 1st at Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery. Those wishing to attend may contact Holmes Funeral Home in Manchester, CT. Memorial donations in Gregory's name may be made to the Native American Rights Fund.
