I was an associate in 1987 at Day, Berry & Howard when I first met Hal, and Joyce. Hal always asked about family, remembering names. Personal connection was of upmost importance, rather than the partner/associate hierarchy. We have an Oneonta connection, as well. Hal was a terrific model as a smart, dedicated, but conscientious lawyerand supporter of the arts. I am so grateful for having known Hal and Joyce. True models of a live well lived.

Harold and Joyce welcomed us with open arms when we moved to Hartford in 2010, and we always a bond from that time onward. Having worked with Harold on several church committees, I can safely say that there were few people who were as dedicated and meticulous and hardworking as he, no matter what the responsibility. He was a friend and an inspiration.

Harold and Joyce attended our concerts for many, many years together. We were blessed for their patronage and generosity. They are together again now enjoying beautiful music again. Our deepest condolences to their children and family.

We extend our sincere condolences on Hal's passing. Hal touched our hearts in so many ways. What a wonderful man, kind, gentle, extremely knowledgeable and down to earth. May Hal rest in peace and be comforted in the arms of our Lord.

I extend my sincere condolences to the Buckingham family. As I told Hal when I saw him a year ago on campus at Sem, I regarded him as the exemplar of a board member. Always prepared, consistently involved, and keeping the interests of the school in mind, he could be counted on to ask the most informed, incisive questions. May he and Joyce rest In peace.

Hal was a partner when I worked as an associate at Day, Berry & Howard. He was a kind and caring professional who took a sincere interest in helping those new to the practice. I will always remember his kind heart and wise counsel. My sympathies to Hal´s family on this loss of a great man.
