Harry C. Cornelius

1922 - 2015

Harry C. Cornelius, 92, of East Granby, beloved husband of the late Jeanne (Austin) Cornelius passed away Sunday, February 15, 2015 at his home. Born August 11, 1922 in Windsor, CT son of the late Charles and Edith (Kenyon) Cornelius he grew up in Windsor before moving to East Granby 62 years ago. Harry served with the U.S. Navy on the U.S.S. Enterprise stationed in the South Pacific. Before retiring Harry was employed for 30 years by Monsanto Co., after retiring he and his wife enjoyed many years of travelling the country in their RV. He was a member of both the Windsor and East Granby Grange and volunteered many years with the East Granby Volunteer Fire Department. He is survived by four daughters, Suzanne Cornelius of East Granby, Sandra Fenn of Medford, OR, Sherry King and her husband Fred of East Hartland, Bonnie Unger and her husband Bruce of Granby; five grandchildren, Lisa Guertin, Julie Sabala, Amy Gillette, Heidi Cowles and Corey Unger; 10 great grandchildren; and his caregiver, Tyhra Greaves.
