BARTHELMESS, Helen (Hemmick) Helen (Hemmick) Barthelmess, 76, of Suffield, formerly of Weston, wife of the late Richard Kurt Barthelmess, passed on peacefully, in her home on Sunday (June 11, 2006). Born in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late Wheatley and Esther (Keene) Hemmick. She is survived by four children and five grandchildren. Helen worked in public relations and was owner and President of Helen Stuart Associates. She was very involved in her church, First Church of Christ, Scientist in Westport. Helen loved participating in theater throughout her high school and college years, continuing in later years with work in community theater. Helen was a writer, with articles appearing in many publications including The Christian Science Monitor. She was also the first sports writer and editor for The Weston Forum. An avid sports fan, she loved to root for her favorite teams, which included: Northwestern Univ., Iowa Univ., UCONN, and the New York Mets and Giants. A loving mother, grandmother, and friend, she will be greatly missed by all. Services will be private at the request of her family.
