CIABURRI, Helen E.
Helen Ernestine (Lindquist) Ciaburri, 93, of Middletown, beloved wife of Joseph C. Ciaburri for 67 years, passed away on Sunday, (May 5, 2013) at Wadsworth Glen. Born in Middlefield, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Teresa Lindquist. Helen lived in Middletown all her life and was a lifelong member of First Church of Christ Congregational. She was very active in the church community and was a member of the Bee & Missionary Society. Helen was a graduate of Middlesex Hospital School of Nursing and worked as an RN until retirement in 1983. She volunteered at Middlesex Hospital and the American Red Cross Blood Mobile and was a member of Lifers Homemakers Club. Along with her husband, Helen is survived by many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Alan Ciaburri and two sisters, Ruth Wentland and Heldine Nealing.
Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, friends may make donations in Helen's memory to The Foundation for Aids Research, 120 Wall St., 13th Floor, New York, NY 10005-3908. I knew Helen for far too short a time. She emanated dignity, compassion and caring and helped to make my first months at Heritage Commons comfortable and homelike. She was a very special person.
