We miss you so much,Sister Helen! I think of you often. I sometimes reach for the phone to call you! When we make soup or one of our good meals we automatically want to put some aside for you and John. You will be in our hearts forever and especially in our prayers!

Sister Helen was my director at IEA for many years. She was a kind, generous person who taught me to love teaching and was such an example to all of us. We all miss her and know she is watching over us. She changed the lives of many of the students and teachers alike. She continued to keep my husband and I as part of her family. She has been so missed!

To the family, IEA family, many friends and CSJ I send my heartfelt condolences of the loss of our Beloved Sr. Helen, aka Sister St. John as when I knew her in first grade. The picture below is what she gave me more than 20 years ago when we reconnected. It was on her desk.
This was I believe one of her first years teaching at St. Augustine's.
She was one of a kind.
May she rest in Heavenly Peace.

I attended IEC from 1990 to 1993. Sister Helen was instrumental in my education. I would never have been able to be everything I am without her guidance. She was a wonderful person.

To the wonderful Staff at IEA,
I'm sending my deepest condolences on the passing of Our Beloved Sister Helen.
Sister Helen was truly an angel from God she welcomed all students with open arms and accepted each students unique learning needs with compassion and love .
Before coming to IEA I personally struggled with a learning disability and making friends and I felt misunderstood by my teacher and fellow classmates .
When I first arrived at IEA i knew this was where I belonged because I could feel the love and compassion of all the staff and I finally like I was being accepted by everyone. While at IEA I had my struggles and difficulties that made learning a challenge for the teachers and staff but they always handled my learning difficulties with love and guidance and eventually I overcame my struggles IEA helped me to make friends and showed me how to be a friend ,I met my Best Friend of 23years Kaila Dressler at IEA .
If it wasn't for Sister Helen and IEA I wouldn't be the person I am today .
I'm forever grateful to Sister Helen and all the wonderful staff at IEA who helped make me the person I am today IEA helped me to become a more confident person and I'm forever grateful for all the love and support I received from Sister Helen and the incredible staff . Thank You Sister Helen for everything you will be deeply missed.

I am deeply sorry for the passing of Sister Helen. I was a student for two years. From 1986 to 1988. Sister Helen was always very kind to me and always made me feel I was a person . Also I entered a whole new world of being a student who could overcome so much not just educational but taught me life skills .
Also my Mother became ill and with difficulties , Sister and the staff was very kind to me,I graduate and few days later, my Mother passed away at 44 years old. Sister and a few close staff members came to my mother's service. Kindness was what I remembered as many great things she inspired me .
Sorry for the loss of the family and friends. She will be missed.
