Henry Botticello Obituary

Henry (Butch) Louis Botticello, 85, of Manchester passed away on Friday, August 13, 2021, at Hartford Hospital, with his much-loved future daughter-in-law Sara by his side. Born in Manchester June 7, 1936. Butch was predeceased by his father Vito Botticello and mother Isabella Cardlicchio, his loving wife Millie Botticello, his daughter Carleen Michaud, brothers Tom, Paul, Joseph and Tony, and his sister Camille. Butch is survived by his children Karen Bafumo, Shelly & Jim Oechsler, Tony Botticello & Sara Madden, Teri & David Dougan, Ellery & Jason Clark, and Edward & Nancy Hayes. Butch also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren James, Brooke, Jessica & her husband Ryne Tedford, Tessa, Ethan, Myia, Aiden, Peyton and Joshua, great grandchild Waylon, as well as many nieces, nephews, and wonderful friends. He is also survived by his sister, Constance Shea and a special caregiver and good friend, Jamie AKA Blondie. Butch was a lifelong resident of Manchester, CT, where his parents owned a farm on Spencer Street, which is where he developed his lifelong love of all things farm related. Although Butch had many interests and tried many other ventures including owning and operating a restaurant with his brother Tony, then becoming an electrician and owner/partner of a successful Electrical company C & B Electric, with his good friend Jack Cofield, as well as becoming an independent builder-who built many businesses and homes in the Manchester area-before he returned to his passion and built his life around his real love which-was farming, with his children, son-in-law David, and grandchildren by his side. Butch will be remembered by most, as the Owner of Botticello Farms of Manchester. Butch had an incredibly generous heart and a sharp mind and quick wit, he loved to laugh and frequently pointed out the absurd. The thing he loved most, was to spend time at the farm with his family and all of his many friends. Sunday at the Farm will always be remembered as "Family Day" and although the chair looks empty, we know it is not because he will be sitting there. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, August 20th at 10:00 am at Church of the Assumption, 29 Adams Street South, Manchester, followed by a burial at St. James Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 West Center Street, Manchester on Thursday, August 19th from 4-8 pm. We are so sorry we could not attend the wake for "Butch"... For almost 50 years we have enjoyed him, his family, his dogs (particularly Tyson), and his wit. We will always remember our talks with him (in his chair) and sharing laughs... Our earliest memories are of buying tomatoes from Shelley on his front lawn. He will be truly missed. Our sincere sympathy for all his family.
Such a good man.....
