MAYANO, Hugo John
Hugo John Mayano, formerly of Milton, MA, 82, passed away Saturday, (February 23, 2013) at Midstate Medical Center in Meriden. He was predeceased by his wife, Elizabeth Cardinale Mayano. He was born Oct. 10, 1930 in Boston, MA, son of the late Simone and Luigina (Negri) Mayano from the Piemonte and Liguria provinces of Italy. Hugo attended the six year undergraduate and law program at Boston University School of Law. He proudly served in the United States Army from 1955 to 1957 where he was stationed in the Black Forest of West Germany. Hugo was retired from the Travelers Insurance Company in Boston as a Claims Adjuster. He was a communicant of St. Bridget Church in Cheshire. In his free time, he loved reading, history, discussing politics and he was an avid sports fan, all things Boston, particularly the Red Sox and Patriots. He was also a very good little league coach. He is survived by two sons, John and his wife Deborah Mayano of Cheshire, and Hugh J. Mayano of Weymouth, MA; and his three grandsons Andrew, Matthew and Michael Mayano. Hugo was predeceased by his brother and his wife, Dante and Eleanor Mayano.
Hugo's funeral will be held 9:15 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013 from the Alderson Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 South Main Street in Cheshire, CT to St. Bridget Church, 175 Main Street, Cheshire for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, 175 Broadway, Malden, MA 02148. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home from 8:30 a.m. until the precession leaves for church. Donations in his name may be made to the American Lung Association, 393 Maple St., Springfield, MA 01105.
