Irene A. Abramowicz

1932 - 2023

Irene A. (Kaminski) Abramowicz, 90, of Bozrah, she had lived in Stoughton, MA, moving to Windsor and Ellington, beloved wife to the late Francis J. Abramowicz, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 9, 2023. Irene was born on July 20, 1932, in Clinton, MA, daughter to Stanley and Bernice (Kowalski) Kaminski.

Irene grew up in Clinton, attended local schools and was a graduate of Clinton High School. Following high school, Irene was very proud of her work in Washington D.C. as a secretary for the FBI. Irene was also employed with the now Bank of America as an administrative assistant for over 20 years before her retirement. Irene had a fun and adventurous life. Along with her daughters she took frequent cruise vacations to the Caribbean. Irene always looked forward to her trips to Aruba to enjoy the sunshine and warmth with her daughter and would also visit the Mohegan Sun Casino with family. Most of all, Irene's focus on life was her family. She hosted many holiday gatherings at her home and would always prepare the most delicious polish foods for them, especially her pierogi.

Irene is survived by her five loving children, Paul Abramowicz and his spouse Laurie of Norwich, CT, Alicia Martin and her spouse Daniel of Westerly, RI, Francis J. Abramowicz, Jr., and his spouse Bill Fleming of Surfside Beach, SC, Renee Abramowicz and her spouse Sue Nixon of Millsboro, DE, and Donna Owen and her spouse Ricky of Ashford, CT; seven grandchildren; many great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Edward Kaminski and his spouse Lee of Fairfield. In addition to her husband and parents, Irene was predeceased by her son, Mark Abramowicz and seven siblings.

A time of visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, February 14, 2023, from 10-11 a.m. at the Carmon Windsor Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave., Windsor, with a prayer service to begin at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Poquonock. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
