Jake Bilodeau Obituary

Jake Robert Bilodeau, raised in Willington, entered into his eternal resting place on Friday, March 31, 2017. He was born on March 18, 1991. Jake is survived by his loving mother, Darlene M. Deprey and husband Mark E. D'Alessio; his father Mark R. Bilodeau and wife Karen Bilodeau; cherished sister, Chelsea "CC" Bilodeau; and stepbrothers Mark D'Alessio Jr., Cody and Mitch Gagne; step-sister Kali Gagne; paternal grandparents, Russell and Susan Bilodeau, Sr.; and maternal grandfather, Gerald Deprey. Jake was predeceased by his maternal grandmother, Maxine Deprey. Jake will be dearly missed by many aunts, uncles and cousins and his dearest friend, Allison Ganley. Although Jake's life was short lived, it was enhanced by his love of music and animals which brought him a sense of peace and acceptance. Jake will always be remembered for his ability to be non-judgmental and accepting of all the people he was fortunate enough to meet and know. For people who really knew Jake, he was a ray of sunshine! Jake loved hockey, the beach, milkshakes and was rarely seen without a coffee in his hand. He learned the landscaping business from his father and was loved by the customers he served. The Memorial Liturgy will be celebrated 11 AM Wednesday (April 5th) at St Andrew Church, 128 Norwich Ave., Colchester. The family will receive guests at the church starting at 10 AM prior to Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in memory of Jake to the Southern Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence, Inc., (SCADD), 37 Camp Mooween Rd., Lebanon 06249 www.SCADD.org. Care of arrangements has been entrusted to the Aurora-McCarthy Funeral Home of Colchester. www.auroramccarthyfuneralhome.com

To my dear cousin Darlene and Chelsea. May God comfort you both at this difficult time as well as those that support you; your husband, Mark. There are no words that could possibly comfort you at this time. Rest assured Jake is in a better place of no pain and suffering. As the days go by find comfort in the memories and laughter you shared. Carry him in your hearts forever. You were a great Mom, and Chelsea a loving sister. You are in our prayers and thoughts.

To Mr. & Mrs. Bilodeau, Mark, and the rest of Jake's family, I was so sad to learn of this news from my Mom, Barbara Adams. It seems both of our families are not strangers to the chronic disease of addiction. One thing I have learned is that it doesn't discriminate; anyone can develop it @ any point in time. Although I didn't know Jake, I hope he got to spend some of his life at Lake Hayward, Connecticut where I remember all of Russ and Sue's kids and their smiles hanging out, care-free with my own three older brothers. Jake was taken before his time; a life lost much too young. He will be sorely missed by you all but never forgotten. I pray for the entire family's comfort, peace and clarity as you all move through the grieving process at your own individual speed. Grief is unique to each person. Please try to support one another through your tragic loss. God Bless You All. ~ Katie Adams
