James Alibrio Obituary

James Joseph Alibrio, son of Helen and Anthony Alibrio, born in Worcester, MA, on May 26, 1944, passed away peacefully at the age of 78 at Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, PA, on November 3rd, 2022. A long-time resident of Manchester, CT, he graduated from Manchester High School in 1962, graduated from Wesleyan University in Middletown, CT, in 1966 and went on to get a graduate degree in Pittsburg, PA. Following his formal education, Jim spent three years in the U.S. Peace Corps, stationed in Malawi, Southeastern Africa, before taking up residency in Harrisburg, PA. There he spent his career in the States Capital Office and worked in the Statistical Analysis Department, eventually rising to the position of Director of Statistical Analysis, Department of Probation and Parole. He leaves behind two brothers, his twin Anthony of Moultonborough, NH, and his brother Robert and his spouse Donna of Manchester, CT, as well as two nieces and five nephews and their 19 children. Jim was single his entire life and in his later years developed health and mobility issues. His family wants to give a special thank you to two of Jim's friends; Santos Lopez and his significant other of 25 plus years Ramona Moreno-Soto, who spent countless hours over the past few years assisting him in his home, as well as providing transportation to shopping, making doctor's appointments, etc. They were truly his "Angels on Earth". Jim, as per his wishes, was laid to rest in Resurrection Cemetery in Harrisburg. The family will plan a memorial service in memory of Jim in Manchester, CT, in late Spring 2023.

Jim and I were in the Peace Corps in Malawi, Central Africa together. I knew him as a kind and gentle person who had great empathy for those less fortunate than him. He will be missed.

My friend and to the father that I never had...
You made sure that I finished college.
You made sure that I got a job.
You made sure that I got to stay here in the US.
You made sure that I work my way up.
You made sure that I find a right girl in life.
I am going to miss you on our regular phone call for the last 25 years.
THANK YOU IS WHAT I NEED TO SAY... Bye for now.

Jim,
I am sincerely thankful to you for being in my life and for all the moments we shared together. Thank you for the memories of late-night talks with my father on the weekends. The memories of bringing your dog Go-go out for neighborhood walks. The memories of holiday dinners in which we would eat together like a family. The memories of you talking about plans on living in a house in our backyard, and the memories of the delicious birthday cakes you´d bring for my siblings and I to celebrate each year.

Thank you for all the cherishable moments that will continue to shine in my memories. You had a profound impact on me and my family and I am heartbroken to learn of your passing. Life will go on but it will never be the same without you.

Rest In Peace, Jim.

Jim,
I am very grateful to have had you in my life growing up. I remember all the holidays that you would celebrate with my family as well as all the delicious meals that we´d shared at the dinner table. My brothers and I have always enjoyed your visit, even if it was just to have a chat with my father every other night. When I visited your house one time, I saw that you had kept one of the Christmas cards that I made you in your living room. You mentioned that you liked it because it was handmade by me. Ever since then, I´ve kept all the Christmas and birthday cards you´ve given me. Each of these cards represent a day of the past that we´ve created together, which I will forever cherish. I wish that I could create more cards for you, but that will have to wait until we meet again. Thank you for all the times that you´ve spent with my family and I. You will be greatly missed.

Rest in peace, Jim

Jim,
Thank you for being in my life and watching me grow up. I still remember all the conversations we had. The conversations we would have all the way back in kindergarten when I wrote my first storybook to present day of us discussing investment strategies in the stock market. I know you always joked with my father at the dinner table about letting me have a drink. I finally turned 21 a few days ago and I would have loved to share a drink with you. So here´s a toast to all the good times and memories we shared together. I am truly grateful to have had you in both me and my family´s life.
I´ll see you in the next life, and let´s continue our conversations there.

Rest In Peace, Jim.
