James Ryan Obituary

James J. Ryan, 81, of Windsor Locks, beloved husband of the late Eileen (Pulaski) Ryan, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, October 25,2023. He was born in Brooklyn, NY, the son of the late Wallace Vincent Ryan and Mildred (Palmer) Ryan. James honorably served his country in the Connecticut Air Guard from 1960 through 1966. He was employed as a research technician at United Technologies Research Center and later worked at Adaptive Optics and Northrop Grumman. James was an avid train fan and was a life member of the Train Collectors Association. Regular trips to the York Train show was a favorite family excursion for him. James is survived by his children, Matthew Ryan and his wife Natalie of Broad Brook, CT; Michael Ryan and his

wife Tracy of Mount Airy, MD; and his cat Tux; he leaves behind 4 grandchildren, Anna, Jared, Cole, and Joseph. James has one great-grandchild, Scarlett, from Joseph and his wife Lauren. He is also survived by his sister Margaret and brother George. Besides his wife, James was predeceased by his younger sister, Edna. The family would also like to thank Shabanda "Mays" Christian, Sharon Gauthier, Gayle Waterworth and her husband Eric. James' family will receive relatives and friends from 5 PM to 7 PM on Thursday, November 2, 2023 at the Windsor Locks Funeral Home, 441 Spring St, Windsor Locks. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Friday, November 3, 2023 at St. Mary Church, 42 Spring St. Windsor Locks. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.
