RICHARDS, Jane (Sherman) Jane (Sherman) Richards, of Vernon, who was affectionately known to some as the "Dust Bunny", has been swept to Heavens Gates on Sunday (June 19, 2005). Born in Hartford, daughter of the late Roger and Gertrude (Reed) Sherman, she has lived in Vernon most of her life. Jane was a graduate of Westbrook Junior College, Class of 1945. She is survived by her five beloved children, Gary Richards of Manchester, Donna Curtis and her family of Vernon, Mariann Slocum and her family of Dewey, AZ, Hank Richards and his family of Summerville, SC, and Sally Sarnelli and her family of Monson, MA; eight grandchildren; a great grandson; a brother, Roger Sherman of Florida; a sister, Ann Schilbac of Michigan; a brother-in-law, Jerry Wadsworth of East Granby; her close companion, Ginny Dow of Vernon; and many nieces and nephews. Jane was a fun and loving mother, and she enjoyed reading and making people laugh. Her family loved her very much, and she will be dearly missed. Her family will receive friends for memorial calling hours at the Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home, 551 Talcottville Road, Vernon, on Thursday, June 23, from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m., with a memorial service at 8 p.m. Memorial contributions in her memory may be made to Rockville General Hospital, 31 Union Street, Vernon, CT 06066.
