Janet (Sicree) Nieman, 89, of Windsor, beloved wife of the late Theodore "Ted" Nieman, passed peacefully on Monday, December 4, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.

Janet was born in Brooklyn, NY, daughter of the late Albert and Alice (Cassidy) Sicree. She would later move with her family to Woodside, NY, and graduated from The Mary Louis Academy High School. She earned her Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from St. Claire's Hospital and School of Nursing in New York City in 1955, where she was employed as a nurse until her marriage in 1957. Janet then moved to Ohio where she worked as nurse until she and Ted started a family, eventually moving to Enfield, where they continued to raise their children before moving to Windsor in 1969. She returned to work as a nurse in 1975 at Kimberly Hall in Windsor for several years, then worked for the Convalescent Center of Bloomfield, until her retirement in 1996. Janet was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, and dedicated her life to helping people.

Janet leaves to celebrate her memory, her children, Richard E. Nieman, Thomas T. Nieman and fiancé Susy, and Susan M. Langhoff and her husband Alan; her grandchildren, David, Matthew, Sarah and her fiancé Zak, Thomas, Alexander, Brad, Danny, and Leah; her great grandchildren Anastela, Amiya, Arileigh, Avienne, Melanie, Nicolas, and Gabriel; her siblings, John Sicree and his spouse Jeremy, and Joseph Sicree and his wife Anna Mae; and many nieces nephews, and cousins. Also, her dear friends for so many years who were always there to help her when she needed it.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her, brother, Albert Sicree; and her sister-in-law, Sylvia Sicree.

Her family will receive friends on Friday, December 15, 6-8 p.m., at Carmon Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave., Windsor. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, December 16, 10 a.m., at St. Damien of Molokai Parish, St. Gabriel Church, 379 Broad St., Windsor. Janet and Ted were our neighbors on timber lane in Windsor. Janet was so kind with our other neighbor on our street we would often get together after Ted passed away. I´ll miss her very much.
