Jini BARNUM Obituary
BARNUM, Jini (Hopkins)
Jini (Hopkins) Barnum, 30, passed away July 28, 2012 in East Hampton. After missing for over 6 weeks her body was recovered September 9, 2012 in Glastonbury. Jini is survived by her son Keith Barnum, 7 years old and a daughter Taylor Elizabeth, 15 weeks old. She has also left behind two sisters, Holli Hopkins of Seattle, WA; and Chey Cowan of Watertown, NY; her mother, Becci Hopkins of Bullhead City, AZ; and grandparents Ron and Sue Devey of San Diego, CA.
Services will be held in the spring of 2013 in Mattapoisett, MA, where she will be place in the family plot with her father and many loved ones. Jini was an intelligent, young, vibrant woman taken from this world much too soon. She was a bright star that will now lead this family into a new future.

Jini,
I hope you know what a huge part of this family you are. You have brought us together in ways we never knew possible and we cherish one another more and more each day. You will always be in our hearts, our minds and our souls. We will not forget you and the wonderful light you brought into this family. As we move forward we know you are looking down upon us, leading us on our paths. A lot has changed since we last spoke and I wish I could call you and tell you all about it. Your little girl is as beautiful as ever and looks more and more like you every day. Your son is growing up to be such a handsome young man and has unbelievable manners and kindness. Chey and Mike are as happy as always, like they are still newlyweds. Latesha is in high school now! Crazy! Shaniece is in 7th grade, but you'd think she was older. She reminds me a lot of you ? Sasha and MJ are growing up so quick too, before we know it they will all be having families of their own. Grandma and Grandpa are doing well and are just as spry as ever. We try to keep them out of trouble but as you know there is only so much we can do. Mom and Rod got married! Finally! And guess what, you were the only one at the wedding! As for me, well, I met a fantastic guy who makes me laugh every day. We are going to be married next April. I still can't imagine going through that day without you and Dad. I always pictured you by my side, but I have Mom and Chey to help me through it and I know you will both be looking down and smiling on our family. Say hello to Dad and tell him I love him and miss him every day. As for you, Jini, please know that I always looked up to you, learned from you and was inspired by you. It's because of who you were that I am who I am. I love you so much and you will always be my sister. There is a part of my heart that is set aside for only you. I pray that you are able to rest in peace. I love you.

Jini appeared briefly to us now and then as Holli's sister, always a bright spirit. We remember her big smile and flaming curls. Heartfelt condolences for a life cut short to all of her family and friends.

I know you will be smiling down and shining your bright rays of light on us all who knew you. I know your in a better place and are at peace. I wish you were here though you had so much love to give everyone whose lives you touched....Jini you will forever be remembered by us all you taught us all many important lessons by being the greatest sister,daughter,mother,and friend anyone could ask for. I didn't know Jini but my deepest condolences go out to her family. No life should ever end so tragic a death and no parent should ever have to bury their child. May this family now have peace and watch over Jini's children.

I am truley sorry for your loss, I personally know the loss of a daughter and still have no peace with it. I met Jini while she was pregnant and loved her as one of my own.
