PUMA, Joanna (DiGiralamo) Joanna (DiGiralamo) Puma, 92, of West Hartford, wife of the late Anthony Puma, died Thursday, (February 10, 2005) at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center. She was born February 3, 1913 in Italy daughter of the late Joseph and Maria DiGiralamo and had lived in Brooklyn, NY prior to moving to West Hartford in 1977 to be near her daughter, and has been a resident of St. Mary Home for the past 18 years. Mrs. Puma was a self-employed seamstress in New York for many years prior to her retirement. Joanna was very proud of her U.S. citizenship. She enjoyed art work and music, especially Operas and Broadway shows and loved cooking. She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Josine and Alexander Kennedy of West Simsbury, and Marie Hodess of Shoreham, NY; a sister, Frances Coppola of New York; and two grandchildren, Jennifer Hodess of West Hempstead, NY, and Jessica Hodess of Maryland. She was predeceased by two sisters, Sadie Rodi, and Angelina Cannova. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday, February 12, at St. Mary Home, 2021 Albany Turnpike, West Hartford. Friends may call at St. Mary Home, Saturday, 9-10 a.m. prior to the Mass. Burial will be in St. Ann's Cemetery, Avon. Memorial donations may be made to St. Mary Home, 2021 Albany Avenue, West Hartford, CT 06117. Vincent Funeral Home, 880 Hopmeadow Street, Simsbury has charge of arrangements.
