CARBONE, John
Mr. John Carbone, 67, of South Lakeside Dr., Terryville, passed away at his home, September 8, 2013 after a brief illness, he was the husband of Mary (Cilibert) Sparks Carbone. John was born New Britain on November 25, 1945, the son of the late John M. and Elizabeth (Barrows) Carbone. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps serving in Vietnam. He worked for the Disabled American Veterans in Newington for over 15 years. He will be best remembered for all the work he did for veterans services in his life and was recognized for all his past achievements and awards, including national awards. He is a member of the DAV and was Past Commander Chapter 5 and Past State Commander Department of Connecticut, and also was a member of American Legion. Besides his wife, he is survived by his two sisters, Betty Lou Mineweaser and her husband Joseph and Mary Jane Groth and her husband Carl; step sons Gregory and Jeremy Sparks; stepdaughter Amanda Sparks. Two nieces, Kathy Mason and her husband Larry and Brianne Groth. A great-nephew Ryan Lantz; plus the loves of his life to whom he was known as "Papa John", his two grandchildren Jeremy and Jayden Sparks.
Friends may call at Dunn funeral home 191 West St., Bristol, on Tuesday, September 10, 2013 from 6 to 8 p.m. Graveside service with full military honors will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the State Veterans Cemetery in Middletown. www.Dunnfh.com

Others called you John I will always remember you as Jackie the cousin I went thru my teens with, a cousin who was also a friend no matter the age difference the only person brave enough to try to teach me how to drive standard in your new mustang you will always be in may heart. To MaryJane the cousin I hung with in better times and BettyLou who always made me laugh my heart and prayers are with you I know your loss always keep him close and in your hearts.
