John I recall worked for me at the North Haven plant of Pratt whitney Aircraft many years ago. He did an excellent job in Industrial Engineering and was well liked. I have passed the notice of his passing onto to his fellow engineers. May you rest in peace dear friend and we are proud of your legacy and good works for others. Jack Walsh

In the short time I've known him, I developed a tremendous amount of respect and admiration for who he was. He embodied the kind of character that is so rare now and anyone lucky enough to have his light shine on them will not soon forget. He was an authentic son of God. I will miss his warmth and his hugs.

John was the finest man I've ever known. It should be noted that he took 19 mission trips to the Dominican Republic and Haiti. His legacy also includes his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. And an extended family in Slovakia. Does anyone know if he designated memorial gifts to anywhere? First Baptist Church, DR Mission Team, Camp Wightman? He blessed us all with his love and his love of Christ.

This world was a better place because of John. He worked tirelessly on mission trips, and his heart was as big as they come. This work isn't over! I look forward to building the John Galayda house on Batey 50 this summer, where his memory will also live on. Although he is greatly missed here, his assurance of eternity in heaven is a comfort. Prayers of comfort for his family and everyone who's life was touched by John.
