John W. Lawson

1944 - 2021

John W. Lawson of Torrington, Connecticut, and Palm Desert, California, passed away on January 15, 2021, after a long illness. John, the son of Jessie W. Lawson and John C. Lawson, was born in Torrington in 1944. He graduated from Salisbury School, and later from Trinity College. For much of his life, John worked as a Senior Underwriter. He had a long successful career working at The Aetna in Hartford, Connecticut, before moving to Cigna and Ing. John's passion in life was to have his own store. John was proud to realize his dream and opened the "Silver Lining" in Simsbury, Connecticut. John's happiest times were those spent in beautiful, sunny southern California! John was predeceased by both of his parents. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Harriet Haag Lawson. Also left behind are his two sons: Christian Lawson of Torrington, Connecticut, and Joshua & Lisa Lawson of Wolcott, Connecticut. He leaves two grandchildren: Emma and Alex Lawson. John also leaves his sister, Jessica Lawson of East Norwalk, Connecticut, and his niece Laura Lawson. He leaves a large extended family on his wife's side. Funeral services will be held in Torrington, Connecticut at a later date. Burial will be at Hillside Cemetery in Torrington.
