McILDUFF, John W. "Jack"
John W. "Jack" McIlduff, 74, of Bristol, cherished husband of MaryAnn (Tyszka) McIlduff, passed away unexpectedly, but peacefully, in his sleep at home on Friday, (June 7, 2013). MaryAnn was blessed to have him at her side for 50 years. Jack was born in Hartford on Jan. 6, 1939 and was the only child of the late James and Anne (Norgaila Morrey) McIlduff. He was raised in Wethersfield and has resided in Bristol for over 50 years. He attended Marianapolis Prepatory School and went on to graduate from Providence College in 1961. As an Army veteran, he was a 2nd Lieutenant in the Infantry and Paratrooper qualified. Prior to retiring, Jack was employed by Allstate Insurance Company in Bristol for over 35 years. He was an avid fisherman who also enjoyed boating and snowmobiling with his wife, children, and grandchildren. In addition to his wife, Jack is survived by five children, Lisa and Rick Van Steenbergen of Middletown, Karen McIlduff of Bristol, Cynthia (Poggio) and Norman Bardales of North Carolina, James and Nicole McIlduff of Colchester, and Christine McIlduff of North Carolina. He was a loving grandfather to 17 grandchildren, and also leaves several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday June 12, 2013 at 9 a.m. from Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol, to St. Gregory Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Burial, with military honors, will follow in the State of Connecticut Veteran's Cemetery, 317 Bow Lane, Middletown. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday between 4-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Angel Flight, 1501 Narcissa Rd., Blue Bell, PA, 19422, or through www.angelflighteast.org.
