I did not know Fr. O'Connor for long nor did I see him often but the few times I had an opportunity to play golf with him and Fr. Dan Sullivan, I found him to be a wonderful person and will miss him.

I believe I was a student at St. Mary School when Fr. O'Connor first came to the parish. That would have been somewhere between 1959-61...I have fond members of the school and his time there. My deepest sympathy to his family.

John always made such a fuss over my maiden Aunt Mary when he came to visit us. He always made her feel very special. She glowed for days after he left. I will love him always for that.
Miss you John

Father has been there for me from Baptizm through Confirmation. I have enjoyed many memorable times at Holy Spirit in the choir and other activities. Thank you for making my years of involvement as a parishioner and Music Minister at Holy Spirit rewarding and fulfilling.

What a joy to have had the chance to share a small part of our lives with Fr.John. Watching him and his relationship with all his family, young and old,was a great lesson of life as it should be. May his memory be eternal. God Bless Fr John

My family grew up with Fr. O'Connor at St. Mary's in the '60's, Holy Spirit in the '70's, our weddings in the '80's and '90's. I left Newington in 1978 and Fr. O'Connor has forever been the measure for all the priests and pastors I've come to know, and forever unequaled.

Our condolences to Father O'Connor's family. He married us in 1976 at Holy Spirit and we were fortunate enough to see him as parishoners of St dominic's in Southington. We'll miss his sermons and jokes he would share at the end of mass.
