John J Smalley Jr. 56, of Tariffville, passed away suddenly on Friday June 1, 2018. John was born on September 7, 1961 in Hartford. Son of the late John J Smalley Sr and Barbara (Mercey) Jubrey, John resided most of his life in Tariffville. John was a hard working man who was very devoted to his family. John was employed as a roofer. He loved the outdoors, camping, fishing and cruising on his Harley. He was an accomplished tattoo artist. He loved wood working, making many things for his family. John is survived by his wife Michelle and his children, John III, Nikki, Andy, Ashleigh and Katelynn and his granddaughter Alexis. He is also survived by his stepfather Russell Jubrey; his two brothers, William Gregorio and his wife Christine, and Joseph Smalley; his three sisters, Maria Karo and her husband Bruce, Dolores Cosker and her husband Tom, and Debbie Noble and her partner Shawn. He was predeceased by his sister Mary. A mass will be held in John's memory at St. Therese Parish at 120 W Granby Rd in Granby on June 9 at 10:00 AM with burial immediately following the mass at St Bernard's Cemetery.
