John J. Waterhouse

John J. Waterhouse, 53, of Vernon and formerly of Tolland, husband to Suzanne (Wasco) Waterhouse, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family after his 3 year battle with cancer. Born in Hartford, the son of Jeffrey and Rosemarie (Sponzo) Waterhouse of Vernon, he grew up and lived in Tolland and Woodstock before moving to Vernon six years ago. John was a graduate of Tolland High School, Class of 1986. He was employed as a program dealer specialist with TireHub and was previously employed by Michelin for several years. John was an avid golfer who also enjoyed boating, cars, watching Giants Football and Yankee's Baseball. He always made sure that his family and friends had good tires and his homemade barbeque ribs and pulled pork. He loved playing pranks on family and friends such as sending them magazine subscriptions or ordering giant cutouts of their worst pictures. In addition to his wife and his parents, he is survived by his son, Nicholas Waterhouse of Vernon; his sister, Candace de Loureiro and her husband, and John's good friend Mark of Vernon; Thomas McDermott, who was like a brother to John; his sister-in-law, Patricia Aldrich of Old Lyme; his brother-in-law, Judd Wasco and his fiancée, Ashley of Rocky Mount, NC, and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. In honor of John's wishes, a Celebration of Life Reception will be held on Sunday, October 3, 2021 from noon - three at Georgina's Restaurant & Banquets, 275 Boston Turnpike, Bolton, CT. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in John's memory may be made to the Helen & Harry Gray Cancer Center, 85 Retreat Avenue, Hartford, CT 06106.
