John Zorick Obituary

ZORICK, John G. John G. Zorick, 84, a resident of Agawam, MA who raised his family in Windsor Locks and became a Florida snowbird after retirement, passed away peacefully at Kimberly Hall in Windsor on Saturday, (September 26, 2009). Born on March 7, 1925, in Hartford, John was the son of the late John M. and Barbara Zorick and the beloved husband of Cecile Zorick for the past 62 years. A veteran of World War II, John proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a foreman for Hamilton Standard for 37 years. In his leisure time he once enjoyed bowling, golfing and the New York Giants football team. A loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and uncle, besides his wife Cecile, John is survived by his children, John M. Zorick and his wife Karen of Windsor Locks; Brenda Rondinone and her husband Robert of FL; Fred Zorick and his wife Debra of Windsor Locks; and Barbara Olson of Enfield; his siblings, Peter Zorick, Rose Venti and Theresa LaRue and her husband Bruce; all of Wethersfield; and his eight grandchildren. Relatives and friends may call on John's family on Wednesday evening at the Windsor Locks Funeral Home, 441 Spring Street, Windsor Locks, 6-8 p.m. Funeral Services and burial with Military Honors in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Agawam are incomplete at this time. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Salvation Army, 855 Asylum Ave. P.O. Box 628, Harford, CT 06101-8320. Cecile and family, We never know when our time is up. For some of us it is really sad to see a loved one go on to the last part of his journey . I want you all to know I feel your sorrow after losing our father last year.The Zorick family is one of the first families we met in the early sixty's when we moved from ME. to CT. Our connection goes back a ways. We have always had the most respect for your family. We are with you at this time of sorrow.
