Joseph J. BALDUCCI

BALDUCCI, Joseph J. Joseph J. Balducci, 91, of Newington died on Friday (May 14, 2010). He was the beloved husband of Emily (Battaglia) Balducci, for 69 years. Born in Italy, son of the late Alfred and Rose (Pedrotti) Balducci, he lived in Newington since 1950 and attended Holy Spirit Church. Mr. Balducci worked at Fafnir Bearing for 43 years, retiring as General Foreman, in 1980. Besides his wife, Emily, he leaves four sons and daughters-in-law, Richard J. Balducci and Carmela of Deep River, Joseph J. Balducci, Jr. and Carol of Jensen Beach, FL, Donald A. Balducci and Barbara of Gastonbury, John J. Balducci and Jane of Califon, NJ; eleven grandchildren, Paige, Leigh, Brett, Aaron, Meagan, Matthew, Dylan, Gregory, Emily, Paul and Michael; nine great grandchildren; his sister, Laia Francini and her husband Leo, of New Britain and several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his brother Leno Balducci and his sister Aldria Cardone. His funeral service will be held on Wednesday, 9 a.m., from Newington Memorial Funeral Home, 20 Bonair Av., Newington, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 10 a.m., at Holy Spirit Church, 183 Church St., Newington. Burial will be in West Meadow Cemetery, Newington. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m., at Newington Memorial.
