Joanne, Jayne & Ellen,
I have been thinking of you and of the difficult time you are going thru. No words can take away the pain you are feeling now, but know that in time, you will embrace the memories of the past. Your dad was a "jack-of-all-trades". I remember most his love of gardening and how well he maintained his "garden patch". He even made some tasty wine. There are many memories
of the time when we lived next door on Slater Rd. Thank you for sharing all those pictures on how life with your family continued in Old Saybrook.

I didn't know Joe, but for years he sat with his friend in front of me at Saint John's 5:00 mass. One of the ushers had this thing with Joe that amused me. Joe would be doing his praying or whatever and the usher, while walking down the aisle would tap Joe on his inside shoulder and Joe would look to see who it was tapping him only to look the other way and find no one there. All during this neither broke out in a smile. This happened almost every week for a very long time. It may be something small, but his loss saddens me. It's simple things that people do that touch peoples lives even if they don't know that they did them. RIP Mr. Chojnowski.

Descendants and close friends of Joe, our sorrow is shared with you because the person that we loved and deared, in it's person is no longer with us.
Our Father was looking for a unique being and He was chosen.
Let's instead rejoice as He enters into the promised Kingdom of eternal life.
Our personal friendship and closeness will be
remembered for ever.
Love Will and Zofia

Joanne, Jayne, Ellen,
Sorry to hear of the passing of your father. Growing up with all of you as your next door neighbor during the 1950's and 1960's, I have fond memories of your dad. He was always in the garden or cutting the lawn. I believe he was the first in the neighborhood to own a riding lawnmower and a snow blower. I recall he always had nice cars that he kept like new and built a boat from scratch. He was the one who took me to the hospital when I broke my arm riding my bike. And let's not forget his discipline which he hoped would keep us from throwing sticks and acorns during our childhood years. May all your memories of your dad provide you peace.

Jayne and Joe, I'm so sorry to learn of Joe's passing. During the few summers that I knew him, he was always friendly and gracious to me. I will miss seeing him driving around Cornfield with Buster at his side. Ken joins me in sending our condolences.

Mr. Joe was such a big part of our family. He may have started out as a patient, but that soon developed into a friendship. Our boys loved heading down to Old Saybrook each summer to go crabbing, driving the golf cart, and eating hamburgers on the beach. We will all miss him tremendously. Such a wonderful, caring man, with a heart of gold.
Much love from us all

Dear Chojnowski Family,
It was with deep sadness that I learned of Joseph's passing. I will always remember him for his friendship, and his love for his dog/s.
May he rest in peace, and happily rejoin Mary.
