Joseph Erhardt Obituary

ERHARDT, Joseph S.

Mr. Joseph S. Erhardt, 81, of Batavia, NY, formerly of Longmeadow, MA died Sunday, (December 14, 2003) at United Memorial Medical Center. Mr. Erhardt was born July 13, 1922 in Chicago, IL, the son of the late Joseph and Adeline Gasparek Erhardt. He graduated from the University of Illinois in 1951 with a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering. He was employed at Combustion Engineering Super Heating Company in East Chicago, IL. He was married to the former Mary Eleanore Wormley in 1956 and was blessed with her wonderful family. In 1961, he was transferred to Windsor, and moved to Longmeadow, MA. His wife, Mary Eleanore Wormley Erhardt, died Dec. 23, 2000. Surviving are two stepsons, Lance (Beverly) Bennett of Batavia, NY and Robbin Bennett of East Longmeadow, MA; a stepdaughter, Andrea Woolcocx of Millville, PA; a sister, Mary Leaphart of Sebring, FL; six grandchildren; a nephew, Malcolm T. (Pat) Wormley of Batavia, NY; several great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. There are no prior calling hours. Services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday at the H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 403 East Main Street, Batavia, NY. Burial with full military honors will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Wellsville, NY. Memorials may be made to HomeCare & Hospice, 550 East Main Street, Batavia, NY 14020 or to the United States Merchant Marine Alumni Association, Babson Center, Kings Point, NY 11024.
