I returned to CT after living in Nevada for 7 years and learned of Joe's passing today. I headed over to the barbershop, excited to see Joe, catch up, tell him about my new job to see if he'd want to partner with us. I expected to to see him inside, cutting hair, and greet me with a surprise, a "hey Lauren" and a joke. I met his son-in-law who told me of his passing. I hadn't spoken to Joe in years, but had never forgotten him. He was a truly unique and amazing individual, always positive, always so so kind, and a pleasure to work for and be around. Thank you to his family for keeping his legacy going. My deepest condolences.

Linda and family.Maggie and I were so sorry to hear of Joe’s passing in the recent Gilbert School alumni news. We sat at the same table with Joe and you at the 50 year reunion and although I hadn’t seen him in that long, it felt like I had known him all along. He was certainly a special guy and your family was blessed to have him in your life.

Joe showed a deep commitment to his family, coworkers and friends. HIs unwavering spiritual strength guided and sustained him through everything he did. His soft yet firm character allowed him to shine from within. It was an honor to spend time with Joe on the tennis courts, as a neighbor, as a coworker and as a friend. Joe will continue on as will as his legacy...I will miss him. Mauro

Joe was my barber for 15 years. I enjoy his stories, sense of humor and laugh. He always made me feel special. He had a way of making every client feel like they were his favorite. He was a wonderful man and will be greatly missed. I made a donation in his memory. My condolences to his family and loved ones.

Linda and family - In hairdressing school this man was already a barber and was there to become a hairdresser. I was having a tough time as a brand new student "learning" haircutting- Joe saw me came over and said this is how we put a "guide" in at barber school. Oh my gosh I remember everything "clicking" in that moment and I can see him masterfully going through that head of hair with the best lesson- It is like I am right there that is how him taking the time was an immence influence on my life. He went off and became a hairdresser and I wound up becoming a barber, I have not seen him for 20 years yet when I did he tried to offer me a job in his salon and I said no way = LOL - I loved barbering to much. He was too young- I will never forget that always smiling face and great moustache. God Speed Joe - you were much to young. I am so very sorry for your beautiful family- I know you will be watching over them all from heaven,

What is there to say about Joe that we all don't already know or hasn't been said by everyone who knew him?
I've been blessed to know Joe for over 35 years as a family friend and client. Both of my adult children have never had a haircut from anyone else!
I will miss my visits with Joe. I will miss laughing with him and sharing life stories with him. Whenever I was going through a challenging time, he would listen and offer wisdom; he always respected differing opinions, and I can recite several of my favorite "Joe Jokes" at the drop of a hat.
Lin, Shauna, Erica, Tony, Rose, Lisa...my heart hurts with yours. What a blessing and joy to have loved and be loved by such a special man.
My deepest condolences. May God bring you peace during this time.

I met Joe +10 years ago and we became fast friends through his business. Best barber I’ve ever known, and just a super great guy. I was fortunate to see Joe in January and as always he was as positive and engaging and skilled as can be- will never forget the “quick taper”! I’ll miss hearing about his San Diego/Mexico trips, time off in Maine, his family, and his golf adventures. RIP dear Joe, and may your family find peace in your passing.
