FROLIGER, Josephine M. Josephine M. Froliger, 86, of Torrington died Tuesday (July 19, 2005) at Charlotte HungerfordHospital. She was the fiance of Sergeant James T. Madden killed in St. Lo France July 23, 1944. She was born in Torrington September 8, 1918 daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Hugger) Froliger. She served as office manager for Allied Grocers for over 40 years. She was known for her generous spirit and continual positive outlook. "Jo" is survived by one sister, Elizabeth Sullivan and brother-in-law William Sullivan of Torrington; nephews, Patrick Sullivan of Hartford, William Sullivan Jr. of Simsbury, Kevin Sullivan, Mark Sullivan, and Brian Sullivan of Torrington; nieces Mary-Kay Bate, Maureen Autunno, and Katie Sullivan-Frome of Torrington and Jeannie Reidinger of Penargyle, PA; and 17 great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sisters Margaret Froliger and Rita Schwaller and a brother Ray Weber. A Funeral Mass will be held an Friday, July 22, at 9 a.m. at Saint Francis Church, 160 Main St., Torrington. Burial will follow at New Saint Francis Cemetery. Friends may call at The Phalen Funeral Home, 285 Migeon Ave., Torrington on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. Memorial contributions can be made to Saint Francis School, 360 Prospect St., Torrington, CT 06790.
