BOUCHARD, Katherine E.
Katherine Elizabeth Bouchard, 64, passed away on June 18, 2012 at Cornerstone Hospice, in Clermont, FL, after a long battle with lung cancer. Kathy was born the first day of summer, June 21, 1947, to John J. Moran, Sr. and Catherine R. Brassill in Hartford, CT. She graduated from Northwest Catholic High and began a long, rewarding career at Travelers Insurance, which later became Citigroup. She worked in the Financial Services Department, and then moved into HR Training. While working at Travelers she cherished many years of singing in the Travelers Glee Club. In 1969, Kathy married Michael Bouchard. They had one daughter, Beth, and lived in Vernon, CT for 34 years. Kathy and family attended St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Rockville, CT where she was active in the Ladies Guild. Kathy enjoyed traveling with her family all over New England and spending time with her many friends, as well as her cousin Robin Dodd, with whom she shared many hours shopping, walking for cancer research, going to plays, going out to dinner, and having a good time together. Kathy also loved to dance, listen to Irish music, and read mystery novels. Many of those mystery novels were read at her favorite spot, in the rocking chair on the porch of her brother's beach house on the gulf coast of Florida. She was chairman and CEO of the beach house book club. In 2006, Kathy retired to spend more time with her daughter Beth, her son-in-law Cyril Terray, and their son, Luke, born in September of that year. After Mike retired in 2010 they moved to Clermont to be closer to Beth and her family. Besides her husband Mike and her daughter Beth and family, Kathy is survived by her brother John Moran, his wife Becky and their son John of Tallahassee, FL; her mother-in-law Agnes Bouchard and brother- in-law Phil Bouchard of Coventry, CT; a sister-in-law Joanne Valentino and her husband Tony of Tucson, AZ; her cousin Robin Dodd of Newington, CT; and her Aunt Dorothy Cecchini of Middletown, CT; along with many other cousins.
A funeral Mass will be held at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Clermont, Florida at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 23rd. Funeral arrangements are being made by Becker Funeral home in Clermont, FL. (www.beckerfamilyfuneral.com)
In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to the Cornerstone Hospice House, 2100 Oakley Seaver Road, Clermont, Florida, 34711, or the American Cancer Society.

To Mike & Beth, Kathy's name was mentioned at St. Bernard's Church in Rockville CT today 06/18/2013. I Attained the Mass. I was shocked when I heard her name. Kathy and I enjoyed many conversation at Travelers for over 30 years. I remember the first time I meet her at Travelers, she told me her husband's name Mike. She was surprised that I knew him. I had the pleasure of working with Kathy at Travelers/Citigroup. She was a wonderful, caring person. I'm so sorry to hear the news of her passing. Dear Beth: I am so saddened to learn of your Mom's passing, she was definitely taken from this life to early. She was such a a wonderful lady always smiling. Mike, Beth and family, John, Becky and John Patrick--I am so glad I had the priviledge of knowing Kathy. She was a very special person and I know she will be greatly missed. Treasure your memories and your faith will get you this tough time. Every time you think of her and smile, her legacy lives on because when I think of her, I think of her smile.
