Laurie Liberator Obituary

Laurie B. Liberator of Avon, CT passed away peacefully on September 22, 2018 at Hartford Hospital, surrounded by her family and close friends. Laurie was born August 22, 1959 in Hartford to Ray and Joan Boudreau and lived in the Farmington Valley for most of her life where she was known for her beautiful smile and infectious laughter. Laurie graduated from Farmington High School in 1977 where she was an honor student and All-Conference on both the field hockey and softball teams. Her athletic prowess continued throughout her life; her perfect day was spent skiing or golfing with family and friends. In 1982 Laurie graduated from the University of Connecticut School of Nursing and began her career as an operating room nurse at Hartford Hospital, rising to the position of Supervisor in the OR's Orthopedics Division. Her caring nature didn't stop with her work though: Laurie always had time to help a friend in need, no task was too big if it meant helping someone she loved. And mostly, she loved her three children to whom she was deeply devoted. Nothing made her more proud than seeing the intelligent, funny, and thoughtful people they have become - that infectious laughter was most exuberant when she was spending time with them. Laurie is survived by her previously mentioned three children: Joey Liberator, Nicholas Liberator and Allie Moore, Allie's husband Oscar Moore and Laurie's beloved grandson, Caiden Moore. Laurie is also survived by John Liberator, her father Ray Boudreau, her sister Karen Geckler, and her brothers Bill Boudreau and Steven Boudreau. Laurie was predeceased by her mother Joan Boudreau. Laurie also leaves behind many other family members and friends whom she loved dearly. Memorial services for Laurie will be held privately. The family wishes to thank all those who have reached out to offer their condolences and memories of Laurie's life-all the kind words have been deeply appreciated and have helped to soften this profound feeling of loss. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Laurie's memory to Save the Children, 501 Kings Highway East Suite 400, Fairfield, CT 06825, Laurie and her family's favorite charity over many years. Arrangements are being handled by Ahern Funeral Home Inc. To send online condolences to the family, please visit www.ahernfuneralhome.com.

Dear Liberator and Boudreau families, I send my deepest sympathy. Although I haven't been in touch with Laurie for decades, I'll always hold dear the fun times we shared while she and John were dating, at their wedding, and for a bit after before we got busy with life with children. Her dry, delightfully irreverent sense of humor, always delivered with a mischievous grin and a twinkle in her eye, leaves indelible memories. Beautiful inside and out, I know she will be deeply missed by her family. Rest in peace, Laurie.

Hello Steve, Billy and families,

Relaying my deepest condolences after hearing the news of Laurie's passing.
My sister Dee Dee and Laurie were long time friends. I remember Laurie being full of exuberance and personality always with a kindness towards others - a characteristic I remember you all offering to friends and strangers while delivering the Boudreau sense of humor that made us laugh and realize not to take life overly seriously.
Laurie made the world a better place for everyone. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.
With condolences,
Hank

It doesn't matter all of the years in between..we all grew up and moved on to find our own special happiness...but, it really hits home when someone from the old neighborhood, when we were all so young, passes on...I can still hear her funny laugh and see her wonderful smile, if only now in my mind. My sincerest condolences to the entire Boudreau and Liberator family. I'm so very sorry for your loss...

Sincerely,
Steven Lepak
