Leokadia Dabrowski

Leokadia Dabrowski, 92, of Wethersfield, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, August 6, 2017. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 67 years, Henry, in 2014. She is survived by her four children and their spouses, Richard and Lucy, Henrika and Ralph, Andrew and Maureen and Martin and Tracy and seven grandchildren, Paul, Kristin, Marc, Rick, Cindy, Michelle and Lisa and nine great-grandchildren, Alexis, Emily, Elizabeth, Colin, Alexa, J.D., Derek, Alex and Callie and many cousins and lifelong friends. Leokadia and Henry moved their family from Poland to Hartford in 1959. This undertaking reflected their strength, courage and determination in creating a better life for their family. She was a woman of strong faith that attended church regularly where she also volunteered her time. She was a homemaker and gardener and took great joy in spending time with her family. She especially enjoyed her grandchildren who gave her great pride. Her traditional homemade pierogis were a well known favorite at family and social gatherings. Family and friends are invited to calling hours from 6-8 pm on Wednesday, August 9 at Rose Hill Funeral Home, 580 Elm St., Rocky Hill, CT. Services will be Thursday, August 10 at 10 am at SS Cyril & Methodius Church, 55 Charter Oak Ave, Hartford. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to SS Cyril & Methodius Church in memory of Leokadia Dabrowski.
