MURDOCK, Linda Rae
Linda Rae Murdock, 73, of Centerbrook, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, died peacefully in her home surronded by her children early Sunday morning. Linda grew up in Little Valley, NY and attended Michigan State University where she graduated and earned a degree in Speech Therapy. She married and moved to Winchester, MA where she worked and had two daughters Kristen Lise and Jill Frances. She later remarried and had her son Nathaniel Lee in Marblehead, MA. In the late 70's she and her family moved to Essex where she lived for the rest of her life. While in Essex she worked as a real estate agent for 30 years. She was involved in many community organizations including: the CT Realtors Association, AAUW, Shoreline Soup Kitchen, many church committees both at Essex Congregational Church, and The Ivoryton Congregational Church. To her family she was always known as: "the church lady!". Linda is survived by her brother William Murdock of Albuquerque, NM, and her Three Children; Kristen Lise Logan of Hailey Idaho, Jill Frances Britton-McLean of Old Lyme, and Nathaniel Lee Von Staats of Centerbrook. In addition to her children she had three loving step children and six beautiful grandchildren whom she adored and was affectionally refered to as "Meme".
A Memorial Service in Linda's honor will be held at the Essex First Congregational Church in Essex on Friday August 30 at 3 p.m. Donations in Linda's memory can go to the Shoreline Soup kitchen and the American Kidney Foundation.

To the Murdock Children,
I had the honor of being friends with your Mom for many years when we worked together. Sadly we lost touch but she was always a bright spot in my day. We had so many good times and always laughter. She had the best sense of humor and so much kindness in her heart. I am so sorry for all of you. My hope is that your grief will someday be replaced with lots of warm memories and smiles. Love and blessings- Ro
