Lola Sakovich Obituary

SAKOVICH, Lola Evelyn Lola Evelyn Sakovich, 92, passed away peacefully in Hartford on Tuesday (October 28, 2008), after a lengthy illness. Born Lola Frey on February 17, 1916, she lived most of her life in New Haven and Hamden. Lola was married for 62 years to the late Fred Sakovich. Lola had many occupations over the course of her life including homemaker, work in the electronics industry during World War II, and office worker at Nationwide Insurance, a job she retired from in the late 1970s. She had many interests and enjoyed being with family members, cooking, walking and knitting. Lola is survived by two sons, Stuart Sakovich and his wife Judy Lewis of West Hartford and Wayne Sakovich of Newton, MA. She is also survived by one sister, Shirley Graham of West Haven and many nieces and nephews. Lola will be remembered for the love and compassion she gave to her family and others who were privileged to know her. She will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed. A memorial service will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in memory of Lola Sakovich to the Whitneyville Congregational Church, 1253 Whitney Avenue, Hamden, CT 06517.
