Lorna Bowen Obituary

Lorna Elaine Bowen, age 76, of Windsor, passed away April 30, 2019 at Hartford Hospital. She was born on May 17, 1942, to Harold and Helen Marks of Bloomfield, and was a graduate of Bloomfield High School. She married James D. Bowen in 1964, and they raised two sons in Windsor. She worked for Connecticut General (later CIGNA) for decades. Lorna will be remembered for her love of music and dancing, and for a laugh that was audible from blocks away. She enjoyed cheering her boys on in sports, walking along the Farmington River, beach visits, festival-hopping, spontaneous road trips, spoiling her granddaughter, and Caribbean travel. Her mantra: "I can't just sit around." She is preceded in death by husband James and son Scott. She will be forever remembered by longterm partner Ernest Jaschinski of Canton; loving son James D. Bowen, Jr. (J.D.) and wife Molly, and granddaughter Grace, of Baltimore, MD; sister Barbara Bouchard and brother Harold Marks, Jr, of Bloomfield; and numerous nieces and nephews. A private service was held in her honor under the direction of Carmon Funeral Home of Windsor. To send online notes of condolences, please visit www.carmonfuneralhome.com.
