Lucienne Daniels Obituary

Lucienne G. (Thibodeau) Daniels, 88, of Hartford, beloved wife for 62 years of Gilbert F. Daniels passed away peacefully at the Jefferson House on Friday, (May 2, 2003) after a long illness. She was born in Grand Isle, ME on September 30, 1914, a daughter of the late Remi and Exilia (Morin) Thibodeau and resided in Hartford for over 65 years and was the last of 21 children. Before her retirement she had been employed by the Veeder-Root Corp. for many years. Lou was a member of the Ladies of St. Anne, a communicant of St. Lawrence O'Toole Church and a founder of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Franco-American War Veterans, Unit 16 of Hartford. All who knew her will remember how much she enjoyed playing cards. She was a regular at Southwest, Barry Square and South End Senior centers. Besides her loving and devoted husband, Gil; she is survived by her loving daughter Diane Cassin and her husband John of Newington; and her beloved grandchildren, Lynn Cassin of Farmington and Robert Cassin of Charlestown, MA. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. The family would like to thank all the staff at Jefferson House for their support and for the loving care that was provided to her. Her funeral services will be held Tuesday 9:15 a.m. from the Fisette-Batzner Funeral Home, 20 Bonair Avenue, Newington, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Lawrence O'Toole Church, Hartford. Interment will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. Relatives and friends are invited to call Monday from 5-8 p.m. at Fisette-Batzner. Memorial donations may be made to Jefferson House, 1 John H. Stewart Dr., Newington, CT 06111 or The VNA Hospice 103 Woodland St. Hartford, CT 06105.
