Margaret Harriett Serafini

SERAFINI, Margaret Harriett (Carroll) Margaret Harriett (Carroll) Serafini, 88, of Winsted died Saturday, (March 25, 2006) at her home surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late Anthony F. Serafini who died in 1972. Born in Winsted, July 21, 1917, daughter of the late John and Margaret (Lambert) Carroll, she had lived here all of her life. Prior to her retirement, she had been the Tax Collector for the Town of Winchester for over ten years. She was a graduate of The Gilbert School, Class of 1934, was involved in the Women's Motor Corps during World War II, was the first woman corporator for the Winsted Savings Bank, was a member of the Catholic Womens Club and bowled with them, was a literacy volunteer and was a lecturer at St. Joseph Church. Her survivors include six children, Michael Serafini of Torrington, John Serafini, Regina Bunel, Daniel Serafini, and James Serafini all of Winsted, Anthony Serafini of Anchorage, AL; 14 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, 9:30 a.m. from the Maloney Funeral Home, 55 Walnut Street to St. Joseph Church for the funeral liturgy at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Joseph new Cemetery.
