Marguerite Babin

Marguerite "Marge" (Northrop) Babin, 78, wife of Mack P. Babin, of New Britain, passed away peacefully Wednesday (January 11, 2023) at the Hospital of Central Connecticut in New Britain. A lifelong New Britain resident, Marge was a graduate of St. Thomas Aquinas High School, class of 1963, in New Britain, and worked as a Nurse's Aide at the Hospital for Special Care for 11 years and later at Pro Health Physicians for 9 years, retiring in 2008. She was a former member of St. Jerome Church in New Britain, is currently a member of Our Lady of Mercy Church in Plainville and was a former member of the Legion of Mary at St. Jerome Church. In her free time, Marge loved spending time at the beach as well as family gatherings.

Besides her husband Mack, Marge is survived by 3 sons, John C. Babin and his wife Alison of Southington, James M. Babin and his wife Marilou of LaPlata, MD, and Jeffrey Babin and his wife Brenda of Bristol; 6 grandchildren, Samantha "Sam" Babin, Cameron Babin, Corey Babin, Kyle Babin, Leah Babin, and John-Carlo "JC" Babin and his wife Bri; and special cousins, Mary Ellen, Nora Cathy, Joe and other cousins. She was predeceased by her special cousin Catherine Lynch and her husband Francis of New Britain, who took care of Marge and brought her up as family. She also leaves two brothers-in-law, Paul and John Babin and four sisters-in-law, Ursela Violette, Diane Albert, Faith Franck and Barbara Chasse.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday (Jan 21, 2023) 10 AM at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 19 South Canal St., Plainville. (PLEASE GO DIRECTLY TO THE CHURCH). Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family in St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain. Calling hours will be held Friday (Jan 20, 2023) 4 to 7 PM at Carlson Funeral Home, 45 Franklin Square, New Britain.
