Maria Teixeira

1941 - 2023

Maria Teixeira, 81, passed away in Portugal. A devoted wife to her husband of 57 years, the late Antonio Teixeira. Born in Portugal on October 3, 1941, daughter of the late Virginia Nogueira and Acacio Videira.

She leaves her daughters, Rosa and Graca, son-in-law Paulo, her grandchildren, Stephanie, Jonathan, Kaitlynn, and Evan. She is also survived by her brother, many brother- and sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews, and friends. She is predeceased by her son-in-law Rui Lopes.

Maria was a loving mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, aunt and, beautiful friend. She was an amazing seamstress, always had something ready for you to eat. Between her and her husband, the garden was fully stocked with fruits, veggies, and flowers of all varieties that she shared with family and friends. She loved all her grand dogs, her grand bird and her birds that she shared with her husband. We will forever miss her and will always love her. She is in heaven resting in peace and watching over all of us.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Saturday, May 20th from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Duksa Family Funeral Homes at Newington Memorial, 20 Bonair Ave., Newington. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 50 Cane St., Hartford. She will be laid to rest with her husband in West Meadow Cemetery, Newington.
