Mark Murphy Obituary

Mark Murphy, of Port Clyde, Maine, died peacefully on July 20, 2021, after a valiant battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband of Susan (Rich) Murphy. Mark was born on July 7, 1956, at Middletown, Connecticut, the son of the late John and Grace Murphy. He grew up in Cromwell, Connecticut and was a graduate of Xavier High School and Colby College. Mark was a long-time resident of Cromwell, Connecticut and Easthampton, Massachusetts. He was the co-owner of M & G Associates, located in Cromwell, and later the general manager at H. M. Spencer, Holyoke. Two years ago, Mark and Susan retired to Maine. Besides his wife, Mark leaves three brothers: Scott Murphy (Jadwiga) of Farmington, Connecticut, Jeffrey Murphy (Barbara) of Dennis, Massachusetts, David Murphy (Sarah) of Madison, Wisconsin and 5 nieces and nephews. A devoted dog lover, he also leaves his two dogs, Alistair and Gilley. Above all, Mark enjoyed his family, his dogs and his books. He was known for his dry wit and his many acts of kindness. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. Services will be private and limited to family. Hall Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 78 Main Street, Thomaston, ME has care of the arrangements. To extend online condolences please visit hallfuneralhomes.com

Dear Susan, I´m sending you hugs and love! So sorry for your loss! I always called him Saint Mark; he would come and pick up Tucker for his walks. I remember your wonderful dinner parties and you always included me. I´m wishing you strength and love for these future days!
