Mark Procaccini Obituary

Mark Angelo Procaccini, 62, of Wethersfield, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 19, 2020 with his family by his side. Mark was a beloved husband for 40 years of Cynthia (Garvey) Procaccini. Born in Hartford on March 14, 1957, he was the son of the late Michael and Evelyn (Cappelle) Procacccini. Mark was a graduate of Wethersfield High School and worked as an Assistant Service Manager at Middletown Nissan. An avid hockey fan, he was previously on the Board of Directors for the Central CT Youth Hockey Association. While Mark held many titles, the ones of which he was most proud were Husband, Dad, and "Papa." He will be forever missed by his devoted wife Cynthia; three children, Danielle Procaccini and wife Elizabeth O'Callaghan and their daughter Briella, Michael Procaccini and Kevin Procaccini, all of Wethersfield; his brother, James Procaccini and wife Joyce; his sister, Gail Finley and husband Thomas; nieces and nephews, Kenneth Lacus, Deborah Tawrel, John Rossano, Darcie Finley, TJ Finley, Adam Procaccini, Matthew Procaccini, and three great-nieces, Phoenix, Raina, and Ivy. He was predeceased by his sister, Joyce Lacus and two nieces, Sarah and Jill Procaccini. Mark's favorite times were spent dancing with his daughter, watching his boys in the hockey rink, and most recently fulfilling his dream of becoming a grandfather. He was most at peace when he was with his family on their boat in Long Island Sound, where he had a lifetime of happy memories. His family would like to honor him with a quote from their favorite Billy Joel, "And like a boat out on the ocean, I'm rocking you to sleep. The water's dark and deep inside this ancient heart, you'll always be a part of me." A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday (January 24) at 10:30 a.m. at the Church of the Incarnation, 544 Prospect Street, Wethersfield. Everyone is asked to please go directly to the church. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. Family and friends may call on Thursday from 4-7 p.m. at the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Boulevard, Wethersfield. Donations in Mark's memory may be made to Autism Families CONNECTicut, P.O. Box 370162, West Hartford, CT 06137. To share a memory of Mark with his family, please visit www.desopofuneralchapel.com.

To Mark's family: I had my car serviced in Middletown, and was always happy when Mark was the person behind the desk - I knew he cared and would take good care of whatever problem I was experiencing with my car. He was genuinely concerned with helping me. My thoughts and prayers are with you all during this time.

I remember Mark calling me about a mutual friend dying in an accident -- he called me at home, I met Mark at Nissan and considered him a friend from that call forward. Reaching out, he did it all the time, never a bad word, kind and understanding. Always professional with that soft touch. A great loss, my condolences to his family.
