Martin Weiner

WEINER, Martin Martin B. Weiner, 94, of Middletown, husband of the late Mildred (Glassberg) Weiner, passed away on Sunday (August 3, 2008) at Middlesex Hospital in Middletown. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late Abram and Pauline (Makovsky) Weiner and had lived in Middletown most of his life. Martin served on many nonprofit boards including B'nai B'rith, United Way, CT River Water Shed Association, Middlesex Hospital, and the Rotary Club of Middletown. He was a long time member of Adath Israel Synagogue in Middletown. He is survived by one daughter, Martha Schwartz of Simsbury; two grandsons, Adam Schwartz and his wife, Sarah Levine, Noah Schwartz and his wife, Angela; four great grandchildren, Maya Levine, Mollie Levine, Max Schwartz, and Caleb Schwartz. He was predeceased by a brother and a sister. Funeral services will be held at Congregation Adath Israel Synagogue, 48 Old Church Street, Middletown on Wednesday, August 6 at 10 a.m. and interment will follow in Indian Hill Cemetery in Middletown. There will be no calling hours and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Martin's memory to the Mildred Weiner Memorial Fund, c/o Wesleyan Potters, Inc. 350 South Main Street, Middletown, CT 06457, or to the charity of the donor's choice.
