Mary E. Smith

Mary E. Smith, 69, wife of Clark F. Smith, of Standard Ave., Winsted, died Saturday, (June 15, 2002). Born in Winsted July 20, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Evelyn Tingle and the granddaughter of the late William and Edna Simons. She was past member of the Winsted United Methodist Church and was an active member of the Bakerville United Methodist Church. She was co-owner of the former Smith Greenhouses in Winsted and a member of the Connecticut Florist Association. She was also a member of the Victory Grange No. 189 and the Auxiliary of the Gideon Northwest Camp. Besides her husband, Clark, she is also survived by her daughter, Laura Smith of Caracas, Venezula; her son, Stephen Smith and his wife; and three grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 18 at 10 a.m in the Bakerville United Methodist Church. Interment will be in Forrest View Cemetery, Winsted. Calling hours will be Monday, June 17 from 6-9 p.m. at The Shea Funeral Home, 99 Wheeler St., Winsted. Memorial donations may be sent to the Latin America Mission, P.O.
