Matthew McCann Obituary

Matthew H. McCann, 30, of Summit, NJ, husband of Julia Gentile McCann died on Thursday (April 18, 2002). He was the son of Mary McCann Cashdollar of Summit, NJ and A. Richard McCann of Clearwater, FL. He was a Bond Trader employed by M.J. Whitman Inc. for five years in New York City. He covered the Sports Column from 1986-90 for Summit High School, was Editor of Summit High School Newspaper, and was a member of Summit High School Tennis Team. He graduated from Holy Cross University in Worcester, MA with a BA Degree in 1994 and was a Eucharistic Minister at Holy Cross College. He volunteered for Jesuit Volunteer Corps in Sacramento, CA, worked in a soup kitchen called Loaves and Fishes, was a past Boy Scout and ran in the N.Y. City Marathon twice. Brother of Richard P. McCann of Montclair, NJ, Michael Cashdollar of Clark, NJ, Todd Cashdollar of Sandwich, MA, and Jill Gonzalez of Key Largo, FL. Also survived by his step-father, Barron Cashdollar; and step-mother, Elizabeth McCann. A Memorial Mass will be held on Monday, April 22, 2002, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Teresa of Avila Church, 305 Morris Ave., Summit, NJ. Please omit flowers. Donations in his name may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, North NJ Chapter, 45 Springfield Ave., Springfield, NJ 07081. Arrangements by William R. Dangler Funeral Home, Summit, NJ.
