Merry Presta, of Rocky Hill, peacefully passed away at the age of 75 on Thursday, December 1, 2016 after a long battle with C.O.P.D. She was a strong and gentle soul who was very giving to all she loved. She instilled in everyone her strong work ethic and determination. Soon after she graduated from hair dressing school, she started her own business in Newington as the owner of Super Curl Salon which she ran with her husband Richard for 29 years. She met many clients who soon became close friends for life. She is survived by her loving husband Richard and her three daughters, Kimberly Fritsch and her husband Richard, Dawn Presta and her fiancé David, Tracy Campagna and her partner James; her three sisters, Gloria McNeil of Georgia, Patricia Baker of Florida, and Betty Sue Hudson-Morris of Alabama, and her brother -in-law Louis Presta and partner Cindy of Rocky Hill, and her special sister-in-law Marie Presta of Middletown. She cherished her time spent with her grandchildren, Ricky and his wife Luz, Kyleen and her husband Chris, Rachel, Brandon, Domenick, Michael, Joshua and Brooke, along with her great-grandson Zalin. She will also be greatly missed by her four legged friend "Snuggles". She will be fondly remembered by all who knew and loved her. Much gratitude to her daughter Tracy and James who compassionately cared for her in her last few months and her granddaughter Rachel who loved spending time with her at her home talking, laughing and always asking for advice. A time of visitation will be held on Monday, December 5 from 4-7 p.m. at the Dillon-Baxter Funeral Home, 1276 Berlin Turnpike, Wethersfield. Funeral services will be private for the family. Richard and family, Michael and I were deeply saddened of Merry's passing. I met Merry when I went to work for her and Richard, and Michael went to high school with Richard. We spent many happy times together at our cook outs and at their home especially the Super Bowl games. She enjoyed it when I made different quiche and sent some home to her. We became good friends over the years and we will miss her terribly. Rest in peace dear friend, we loved you.

Merry was a very special sister to me and I loved her so very much. I have very fond memories of when we were growing up, as well as the many humorous times we had when she visited my husband and me in Florida. Merry was a little person with a big heart, and a strong presence!! She treated her staff at Super Curl as if we were her daughters. I have so many treasured memories of Good times and personal talks and guidance that I often needed. I still called her often every
time I was going to make a Big decision for her wisdom and advice. She fought a strong battle in these last few years never giving up, typical of her personality. I remember thinking I wasn't that good of a hairdresser when I came out of school and She would never hear of that kind of talk. I felt so LUCKY to have been taught under the direction of Merry, Richard and Mai Marie! My condolences to Richard, the Girls and grandchildren She was very proud of you all and LOVED each of you so much That included her nieces and nephews also. She also loved her sisters and I loved all the stories of them growing up in Georgia! I think one of the BEST things Merry taught me was PERSEVERANCE!
