It’s been a year since you left me and the girls. Not a day goes by that we don’t think about you. My life hasn’t been the same since. You were my world, my strength, my protector, my hero my dance partner and most of all my love. There has been times when I felt I didn’t want to continue living without you, because we made a pact to go together. But I thank God that he didn’t grant my wish to take me also. I know that I need to be here for our girls who wouldn’t have been able to deal with the loss of both of us. So I continue to pray and ask God for strength to help us make it. I will always love and miss you, but I am so glad and thankful God allowed us to have 51 loving years together. I know you are at peace and enjoying your Heavenly Home. I am certain I will see you again, so make sure our Heavenly bedroom is decorated in purple. LOVE YOU!!

Months ago as I was passing by Simpson-Waverly school on my way to see mom I happened to see Mr Harris chatting away with his park buddies with seemingly not a care in the world, enjoying a beautiful summer eve. I remember this particular day because I didn't honk my horn or roll down my windows to say hello but kept my mind focused on navigating the speed hump ahead. I felt a bit guilty because Mike was never too busy to greet his colleagues at work. Today those park chums and all of us miss this affable gent. Look forward to seeing him again someday soon.
